Intelligent Differential Ion Mobility Spectrometry

After installation and upon opening iDMS, please go to System Settings → Privacy & Security, scroll to Security, then click Open Anyway to allow the app to launch. This only needs to be done once.

Overview

iDMS is an in silico supervised neural network model that learns the field asymmetric (differential) ion mobility spectrometry (FAIMS/DMS) relationships between separation voltage (SV), compensation voltage (CoV) and the monoglycosphingolipid structural features of sugar headgroup, N-acyl chain length, and N-acyl degree of unsaturation. iDMS predicts the SV and CoV combinations capable of resolving any monoglycoceramide stereoisomer pair and can be trained using a dataset composed of empirically determined signal intensities for 12 or more stereoisomers (6 or more pairs of epimers) measured across a range of SVs and CoVs. It is recommended to acquire the training dataset using a CoV ramp step of 0.2 V.

iDMS is available as Python scripts, two Jupyter notebooks on Github, and here as a desktop application for Mac OS (Apple Silicon).
